Reviews for Mama Ting Sarawak Noodle
Review highlights
Based on 822 reviewsMama Ting Sarawak Noodle SS2 is widely recognized for delivering authentic Sarawak-style noodle dishes with a focus on balanced flavors and satisfying textures. Common praise highlights the red kolo mee and Sarawak laksa, noted for their flavorful broths and well-prepared noodles that achieve an ideal springiness or al dente bite. The generous topping of char siu and fried shallots enhances the dishes’ overall appeal, while accompanying condiments like chili sauce add desired heat. Although some customers observe occasional inconsistencies, such as softer noodles in certain dishes or less robust drink options, the portion sizes and pricing are generally considered reasonable. The casual dining environment supports frequent visits, attracting loyal patrons appreciative of both taste and value. Overall, Mama Ting maintains a positive reputation for authentic Sarawak flavors and quality ingredients in a welcoming setting.
The red kolo mee is not bad. Flavourful and the noodle very al dente.for big eater, can consider the big portion. Kampua mee on the other hand not to my liking, abit tasteless, noodle too soft for my liking..and very little char siew. For the dry wonton, the size like wantan mee wonton..is a bit on the small side, mainly alot wonton skin...but overall is ok. You can order plain water for 50sen (not in the menu). Seating wise is ok, nice environment with airconds. Not too many tablesb its the size of one shoplot. Total around rm30 for 2 pax.
First time at Mama Ting and it was good, authentic Sarawak food! The Kolo mee was delicious with fragrant mix of lard oil and fried shallots. Noodle texture was just right. The Sarawak laksa broth was on point and tasted the same as Kuching laksa. Only downside is Sarawak beehoon was not used so lacked the more chewy texture. Also the drinks were a bit on the weak side. Overall the food is authentic and I will definitely be back. Maybe next time I bring my own Sarawak beehoon ;) I want to try the keow, dried wonton next time.
Great bowl of Sarawak noodles! Tried Mama Ting Sarawak Noodle and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The noodles were springy and well-seasoned, topped generously with char siu, minced meat, and fried shallots. Loved the texture and flavor combo — simple but satisfying. The soup on the side was light and comforting, and the chili sauce added a nice kick. Portion size was just right for lunch. Only reason for 4 stars is the char siu could be slightly more tender. Cos the char siu we have is cold, dry and hard. Still, definitely a great place to fix your Sarawak noodle cravings!
Mama Ting’s Sarawak Noodles: A Flavorsome Affair! Sarawak cuisine never disappoints, and Mama Ting’s does it justice with these two show-stoppers: Sarawak Laksa – A bowl of rich, aromatic broth packed with bold flavors, loaded with plump prawns, crunchy bean sprouts, and fresh coriander. The deep reddish hue of the broth screams intensity, and trust me, it delivers. Add a squeeze of lime for that extra zing! Spicy Wantons – These little parcels of joy are drenched in a chili-infused sauce that packs a punch. The soft, delicate dumpling skin absorbs all that fiery goodness, while the juicy filling melts in your mouth. Finished with a sprinkle of crispy fried shallots and spring onions—flavor explosion! If you’re craving a comforting yet bold Sarawakian feast, Mama Ting’s is a must-visit.
Hands down the best Sarawak kolo mee and kampua mee! I love the spicy kampua mee! I'm glad I found the taste I'm fond of! My wife and I frequent there at least twice a week for lunch. Taste wise is good. Price wise is reasonable.
Taste ok, just enough of the flavor, mild not overwhelmed. Noodles has got the chewiness. It's just the the meat texture is not there. Taste is like the vegetarian texture of meat. I can't put the words. Soup is just bland. Tried the Red sauce dry noodles. Reasonable price.
